British Brown Bess Musket

This is the Brown Bess, the weapon of choice for the American Revolution, and yet it has no sights, none. You actually had to close your eyes, steady your hands, and just pull the trigger, hoping your aim struck true. Engraved on its side is the Royal Crown and the initials GR,(...) Georgius Rex, Latin for King George.(...) Now here's the irony, both sides used this gun, patriots fighting for freedom, and the redcoats defending the crown wielded the same British weapon. The Brown Bess reminds us that weapons themselves do not decide history, people do. Liberty's not forged from the end of a musket, but from courage and conviction, and the determination of the men who pick it up.
